Takes easy decision in Abu Dhabi
FeatherweightUFC
July 25, 2020
Evloev defeated Mike Grundy via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Evloev deserves credit for working through some early issues in this one. He allowed Grundy to land six successful takedowns but did an excellent job of working his way right back to his feet. This fight was lopsided in the striking department. Evloev landed 96 total strikes compared to just 25 from Grundy. The Russian has proven to be a pretty well rounded mixed martial artist over the course of his first three UFC bouts (all victories), with the one major complaint against him being that all three of those wins have come via decision. Evloev is a clear fighter to keep an eye on moving forward at 135 pounds.

Gets Grundy on Fight Island
FeatherweightUFC

Evloev will take on Mike Grundy in a featherweight matchup July 25 on Fight Island, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Evloev had multiple fights come and go in 2020 even prior to the pandemic, as a motorcycle accident prevented him from making the walk to the cage against Jamail Emmers back at UFC 248. HIs time with the UFC has been successful otherwise, however, as Evloev owns a pair of wins against Enrique Barzola and Seung Woo Choi. He'll be taking on a fighter in Grundy that is 1-0 with the company following a March 2019 stoppage victory over Nad Narimani. Both men stand at 5-foot-7 with a 72-inch reach.
