Rafael Fiziev

Destroys Renato Moicano
December 12, 2020
Fiziev defeated Renato Moicano via KO (punches) at 4:05 of Round 1 at UFC 256 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
That's one scary man. Fiziev has made quite the name for himself despite being with the UFC for all of four fights. Fiziev was knocked out by Magomed Mustafaev in 86 seconds in his company debut back in April 2019 but has since run off three straight wins. Saturday was his best performance to date, and it will earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Fiziev fired off some of the quickest, most perfectly placed strikes you will ever see. His ability to string together combinations and mix things up is truly a thing of beauty. The 27-year-old may not be a household name yet, but a few more performances like this will change that in a hurry. Fiziev is a legitimate dark horse to have title-implicating fights in the lightweight division by the end of 2021.

Moicano fight bumped back
November 21, 2020
Fiziev's scheduled fight against Renato Moicano was bumped back to Dec. 12 after Moicano tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, MMAJunkie.com reports.
The matchup was originally scheduled to take place on Nov. 28. Moicano seemingly has a relatively mild case of the virus, as the fight will only be delayed by two weeks.
Slated to face Moicano on Nov. 28

Fiziev will take on Renato Moicano at the UFC event on Nov. 28, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Fiziev will look to continue his strong run of victories when he faces counterpart Moicano in November. Fiziev most recently defeated Marc Diakiese via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night in July, while Moicano will be coming off a win against Damir Hadzovic via submission in Brazil back in March.
Gets UFC contract renewed
August 5, 2020
Fiziev announced Wednesday via his personal Twitter account that he signed a new four-fight agreement with the UFC.
After suffering a first-round loss to Magomed Mustafaev in his promotional debut in April 2019, Fiziev has bounced back nicely, claiming unanimous-decision victories over Alex White in October 2019 and Marc Diakiese on July 18. Now 8-1-0 in his professional fighting career, the 27-year-old looks to be a prospect on the rise in the lightweight division.
Strong run continues
July 18, 2020
Fiziev defeated Marc Diakiese via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
It was an excellent effort from Fiziev that was made all the more impressive by the fact he accepted this fight a little over a month ago after Alan Patrick (undisclosed) was forced to withdraw. Fiziev stood toe-to-toe with the bigger, longer Diakiese and was able to match him punch for punch. This fight wasn't as close as the final stats -- a 78-68 edge for Fiziev in total strikes landed -- would lead you to believe. It did get Fight of the Night honors, however, landing both men a $50,000 bonus. Fiziev lasted 86 seconds in his UFC debut against Magomed Mustafaev in April 2019, but he has since run off a pair of impressive unanimous decision wins over Diakiese and Alex White. Fiziev has firmly regained his status as a legitimate prospect following his rough debut.
Slated to face Diakiese
June 13, 2020
Fiziev is the targeted replacement for Alan Patrick (undisclosed) versus Marc Diakese on the July 18 card at UFC "Fight Island," Nolan King and Farah Hannoun of MMAJunkie.com report.
Fiziev was quickly targeted to take Patrick's spot after he voided it just three days after the fight was announced. This should give him ample time to prepare for the bout in just over a month as Fiziev looks to follow up his first career UFC victory versus Alex White at Fight Night 162. Both fighters prefer to remain upright, but Fiziev sits at a two-inch disadvantage in both height and reach, so he'll need to work in close.
