Suffers first pro defeat
BantamweightUFC
August 21, 2021
Malecki lost to Josiane Nunes via KO (punch) at 4:54 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 29 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Yes, Malecki somehow entered this fight as a -160 favorite. There is no good explanation for it after seeing the proceedings. Malecki joined the UFC in June 2019 with all of two professional fights under her belt. That very rarely happens unless there is some extraordinary circumstance. She submitted Duda Santana in her company debut before taking a unanimous decision from Veronica Macedo in March 2020. The good times ended Saturday, as Malecki was completely overrun on the feet by the debuting Brazilian. She ate 51 total strikes before No. 52 closed the show. There's not much here despite the fact the Swede entered the night with an undefeated record.
