New matchup with Uriah Hall
April 22, 2022
Muniz agreed to face Uriah Hall in a middleweight bout at UFC 276 on July 2, Marcel Dorff of reports.
The previous matchup between the two was scheduled for April 16, but Hall was forced to withdraw and the promotion was unable to find a replacement fighter. The pair now has a new date set while Hall seeks to rebound from a loss to Sean Strickland, though he did win his previous four fights. Muniz has yet to lose since debuting in the promotion in 2019 and is coming off a win over Eryk Anders.

Off April 16 card
April 6, 2022
Muniz won't be included on the card for UFC on ESPN 24 in Las Vegas on April 16 after the promotion wasn't able to find a replacement to fight him following Uriah Hall's (undisclosed) recent withdrawal from their scheduled bout, Guilherme Cruz of reports.
Dricus Du Plessis was reportedly one of the fighters whom the promotion contacted about potentially fighting Muniz, but he declined the middleweight bout with Muniz since he was already cutting weight ahead of this weekend's UFC 273 event for his matchup with Kelvin Gastelum (knee), which was recently cancelled due to Gastelum's withdrawal. Muniz will put his six-fight winning streak on hold for the time being and will look to make his 2022 debut at some point in the next few months.
Needs new opponent
April 2, 2022
Muniz needs a new opponent for UFC on ESPN 34 on April 16 after Uriah Hall withdrew for an undisclosed reason, reports.
The promotion is seeking a new opponent for Muniz on short notice, but it's not yet clear whether another fighter will agree to step in with two weeks remaining until the event. Muniz is undefeated under the UFC banner, most recently defeating Eryk Anders via submission (armbar) at UFC 269 in December.
Will fight Hall at April UFC event
January 27, 2022
Muniz will face off with Uriah Hall at the UFC event on April 16, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport Nederlandreports.
Muniz is set to take on a more difficult opponent in Uriah Hall after Muniz was able to quickly tap out his last opponent Eryk Anders. The Brazilian will look to keep his undefeated start to his UFC career when he takes on Hall. Hall is coming off a crushing loss to Sean Strickland, where Strickland controlled the fight and won via unanimous decision.
Quickly taps out Eryk Anders
December 11, 2021
Muniz defeated Eryk Anders via submission (armbar) at 3:13 of Round 1 at UFC 269 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Muniz has been with the UFC for all of four fights, but in that time he has quickly established himself as both an elite mat specialist and as one of the middleweight division's fastest rising stars. On the heels of a dominant submission win over Jacare Souza this past May, Muniz looked even better Saturday. He scored an easy takedown on Anders in the early going and then displayed virtually every trick in the book before clamping on the armbar that ended the fight. Anders isn't the type of guy to offer much resistance on the mat, but Jacare is one of the most decorated BJJ specialists in MMA history and Muniz tapped him out as well. The Brazilian is going to get a notable opponent his next time out, and he deserves it.
Now facing Eryk Anders
November 9, 2021
Muniz will now take on Eryk Anders at UFC 269 on Dec. 11, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Muniz didn't have to wait long after it was announced that his previous opponent, Dricus Du Plessis, was forced to withdraw Tuesday, as he already has a replacement lined up the very same day. Muniz will be looking to maintain his undefeated start to his UFC career, a run he's maintained through three fights thus far including a pair of first-round submissions against Bartosz Fabinski and Ronaldo Souza in his last two trips to the Octagon. In Anders, he'll face an opponent who rebounded from a three-fight losing streak to go 3-1 with a no-contest over his last five fights.
