Big moments lead to first UFC win
July 24, 2021
Belbita defeated Hannah Goldy via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 27 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Belbita came into this contest with significant advantages in height and reach, and put them both to good use, landing a flush right hand in the first round to send Goldy to the canvas. A close second frame was followed by another big right hand in the third that forced the opponent to clinch to avoid being knocked out. Belbita took a few too many flush head kicks against someone she had significant physical advantages over, but she is a strong enough kickboxer to potentially climb the ladder at strawweight. She improves to 14-6 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.

Set for July bout
July 8, 2021
Belbita (elbow) will fight Hannah Goldy at the July 24 UFC Event, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Belbita hasn't fought since last July, but she was handed a six-month medical suspension. She lost her last fight via submission to Liana Jojua. Belbita has a 13-6-0 record in her career.
Handed medical suspension
July 17, 2020
Belbita has been given a six-month medical suspension by the UFC following her loss to Lianna Jojua via submission at UFC Fight Night, Steven Marrocco of MMAFighting.com reports.
Belbita needs an MRI of her right elbow in order to avoid an extended time on the shelf. While she landed a take down on Jojua, she ultimately left her arm exposed, which led to her losing from an armbar. She is now winliness through her first two UFC fights.
Quickly taps out in Abu Dhabi
July 15, 2020
Belbita lost to Liana Jojua via submission (Armbar) at 2:43 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.
It was actually Belbita who landed the takedown that sent the two women sprawling to the mat, but she left her arm exposed and Jojua took full advantage. Belbita actually fought the armbar well and for quite a long time before Jojua was finally able to roll over and finish her off. The end result is a worse-case scenario for Belbita given the fact she was swept (30-26 x3) across the board by Molly McCann in her company debut last October. There simply isn't much here.
Taking on Jojua at 'Fight Island'
June 15, 2020
Belbita (13-5-0) is scheduled to take on Liana Jojua (7-3-0) at a UFC Fight Night event July 15 in Abu Dhabi, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
"The Warrior Princess" will be looking to rebound at UFC's "FIght Island" after losing in her promotional debut to Molly McCann back on Oct. 18 at UFC Boston. It's unclear whether Belbita, who fought McCann in a flyweight battle, will move up to the bantamweight division to face Jojua, who also lost her most recent fight last September at UFC 242 to Sarah Moras.
Dominated in UFC debut
October 18, 2019
Belbita lost to Molly McCann via unanimous decision (26-30, 26-30, 26-30) at UFC Fight Night on Friday in Boston.
Belbita has a background in both judo and kickboxing, but McCann is a tough mark for a debuting fighter and the young Romanian never really had a chance in her first fight with the company. Belbita hung around in Rounds 1 and 3, but she was thoroughly dominated in Round 2. Her inability to defend the takedown -- she allowed McCann to score five -- was her ultimate downfall. At 23 years old, Belbita is one of the younger fighters on the entire roster, so there is plenty of time for further growth in her all-around game.
