Suffers first pro defeat

Nchukwi lost to Jun Yong Park via majority decision (25-30, 26-29, 28-28) at UFC on ESPN 24 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Good luck finding a fight that produces stranger scorecards than this one. The one thing that wasn't in doubt was that Nchukwi looked terrible despite entering as a -155 favorite. The second round was by far Nchukwi's best, but his strong performance in the middle frame was negated by multiple low blows which led to referee Chris Tognoni (correctly) docking him a point. It was all downhill from there. While Nchukwi entered this fight undefeated as a professional, it's important to remember he began the evening with all of five fights under his belt. There are going to be growing pains for the 26-year-old native of Cameroon, and this was a perfect example of that.

Nchukwi (knee) will fight Jun Yong Park on the May 8 card, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Nchukwi was hit with a 180-day medical suspension following his UFC debut victory over Jamie Pickett back in December. With that now in the rearview, he can focus on his upcoming clash with Park, who is riding a two-fight winning streak of his own. It's also a clash of styles between the two fighters, with Nchukwi looking to keep things upright and Park figuring to pursue takedown attempts early and often. Nchukwi does have a two-inch height and four-inch reach advantage to hlp him keep Park at a distance.

Nchukwi was handed a 180-day medical suspension Tuesday, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nchukwi defeated Jamie Pickett handily in his UFC debut, though he took some blows in the process, suffering injuries to his right knee and left shoulder. The 180-day ban could be waived pending clearance from a doctor, but he'll be required to miss at least 45 days and to go 30 days without contact.

Nchukwi defeated Jamie Pickett via unanimous decision (30-25, 30-26, 30-26) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This one was never in doubt. In a fight between two products of Dana White's Contender Series, Nchukwi left no questions about who the better man was. He landed 120 of 187 significant strikes, good for a stunning 64 percent clip. Nchukwi had never gone halfway through the second round in any of his four prior professional fights, let alone seen the final bell. Nchukwi's power is entirely legitimate, and he's a serious threat on the feet, but he fights at a bit of a slow pace and it will be interesting to see how he handles some of the quicker fighters in the division. Saturday's performance was certainly encouraging.

Nchukwi will face Jamie Pickett on Dec. 19, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
The location of the event has not yet been announced. Both fighters will be making their UFC debuts in this one. Nchukwi has won all four of his professional fights, finishing each by KO or TKO before the end of the second round. Pickett is 11-4 as a professional and is coming off a pair of wins.
