Pete Rodriguez

Steamrolled in UFC debut
January 22, 2022
Rodriguez lost to Jack Della Maddalena via TKO (punches) at 2:59 of Round 1 at UFC 270 on Saturday in Anaheim.
The second-biggest underdog on the card at +290, Rodriguez was hopelessly outclassed in his UFC debut. The 25-year-old Arizona native entered with just four professional fights under his belt, and they came in something called the iKon Fighting Federation. There isn't much to breakdown here from a technical standpoint. Rodriguez's stand-up defense appeared to be severely lacking, which isn't much of a surprise considering his lack of pro experience. Rodriguez will probably get another chance with the company, but little should be expected.
