Michelle Montague
The Wild One

New Zealand
Takes decision in UFC debut
Montague defeated Luana Carolina via unanimous decision (29-26, 30-25, 30-26) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
ANALYSIS
A former four-fight PFL veteran, Montague signed with the UFC in July and made her company debut here. She looked pretty good as a -225 favorite. Michelle leaned on her wrestling repeatedly, landing 5-of-7 takedowns for 10:43 worth of control time. Montague did absorb a few too many big blows from her opponent, which is a concern because Carolina has limited power. Regardless, it was a strong opening effort from the first ever female native of New Zealand in company history.
