Will face Meerschaert on Saturday
Light HeavyweightUFC
July 28, 2020
Herman will take on Gerald Meerschaert in a light heavyweight matchup at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Aug. 1, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
Herman was originally slated to face Da Un Jung at this event, but he'll instead draw a fighter moving up a weight class in Meerschaert. Despite getting matched up against a former middleweight, both men sport identical marks in height and reach. Meerschaert is coming off a knockout loss in June, while Herman is on a two-fight winning streak, though he hasn't fought since the start of the pandemic. The striking and grappling numbers are both strikingly similar here, but Herman will enter this bout as approximately a (+165) betting underdog as of the start of fight week.
Facing Da Un Jung in August
Light HeavyweightUFC
June 16, 2020
Herman (24-14-0, 1 NC) is scheduled to face Da Un Jung (13-2-0) in a light heavyweight fight Aug. 1 at a yet-to-be-determined location, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
Herman and Jung were initially slated to fight one another at UFC Oklahoma City on May 2, but that event was scrapped due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. Though the UFC hasn't officially settled on a location for the Aug. 1 card, both Herman and Jung will prepare to return to the Octagon for the first time in 2020. Herman last fought in November at UFC Moscow, defeating Khadis Ibragimov in a unanimous decision.

Herman (24-14-0, 1 NC) is scheduled to face Da Un Jung (13-2-0) in a light heavyweight fight May 2 at UFC Oklahoma City, The Oklahoman reports.
"Short Fuse" Herman will re-enter the Octagon riding a two-fight winning streak, with his most recent victory coming over Khadis Ibragimov via unanimous decision back in November at UFC Moscow. Coincidentally, Jung has also won both of his fights since signing with the promotion, including a win of his own over Ibragimov last August.
Wins second straight fight
Light HeavyweightUFC
November 9, 2019
Herman defeated Khadis Ibragimov via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Moscow, Russia.
Herman's fights are never pretty and this was no exception. Facing an opponent who displayed dreadful cardio, Herman played the long game and outworked Ibragimov over the course of the 15-minute bout. The total strike count was 121-70 in favor of "Short Fuse". Herman is tough as nails, been around forever, and is not going to beat himself, so if he's going up against an opponent like Ibragimov with a clear weakness, the 39-year-old has enough gas left in the tank to emerge victorious. It appeared as if Herman's long UFC run may have been over following a third straight defeat in October 2018, but he has since rebounded with back-to-back wins.
Gets new opponent
Light HeavyweightUFC
October 30, 2019
Herman will now face Khadis Ibragimov in a light heavyweight matchup at UFC Moscow on Nov. 9, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
Herman's original opponent, Gadzhimurad Antigulov, was removed from the card for undisclosed reasons, but Ibragimov will step in on short notice. Herman snapped a three-fight losing streak in May with a victory over Patrick Cummins via TKO (strikes) at UFC Rochester, which brought his record as a professional fighter to 24-14. Ibragimov carries an 8-1 record over his MMA career is coming off a loss to Da Un Jung via submission in his UFC debut. Ibragimov carries slight advantages over Herman in height and reach.
