Menifield lost to Carlos Ulberg via KO (punches) at 0:12 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in St. Louis.
ANALYSIS
Perhaps Menifield would have won, maybe he would have lost, but he gave himself absolutely zero chance with the foolish game plan he elected to employ. Alonzo blitzed Ulberg right off the hop, firing off some wild, off balance shots which vulnerable for damaging return shots. Carlos took full advantage, finishing Menifield in an instant. Entering with an undefeated record in his past five fights (4-0-1), Alonzo had a real chance to make a statement here at 205 pounds and he let it slip right through his fingers. The margin for error at this level is razor-thin, as Menifield just found out.

Menifield defeated Dustin Jacoby via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 296 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A low-volume striker with questionable cardio, the prevailing wisdom was that Menifield would struggle with the technical stand-up skills of Jacoby. That was indeed the case for about a round before everything changed. Alonzo may not have landed with the same frequency of his opponent, but he certainly landed the more memorable strikes, including the biggest blow of the fight, a Round 3 knockdown. Toss in the only successful takedown of the bout, and you have yourself a tight but well-deserved unanimous decision win. Menifield turned 36 years of age in October, so time is certainly not on his side, but he's undefeated in his last five fights (4-0-1) and should be in line for a semi-notable opponent his next time out.

Menifield will compete against Dustin Jacoby in a light heavyweight fight at UFC 296 in Las Vegas on Dec. 16, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Menifield will look to end his 2023 on a high note. He began the year with a majority draw against Jimmy Crute at UFC 284 before defeating him in a rematch five months later at UFC 290.
Ends Crute rivalrly with victory

Menifield defeated Jimmy Crute via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:55 of Round 2 at UFC 290 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's an emphatic ending to the brief rivalry between the two. Menifield and Crute met this past February, a fight that ended as a majority draw due to the fact Alonzo was docked a point in Round 3 for an illegal fence grab. The two ran it back here, with Menifield in control the entire way. He was the far more effective fighter on the feet, as expected. He did allow one Crute takedown right before the stoppage, but immediately worked his way back to his feet and clamped on the choke that closed the show. Menifield's power is ridiculous, so any time he shows off his secondary skills as he did in this fight, it's a good sign. Unbeaten in his last four (3-0-1) fights, Alonzo continues to try and make a push at 205 pounds.
