That was indeed the case for about a round before everything changed. Alonzo may not have landed with the same frequency of his opponent, but he certainly landed the more memorable strikes, including the biggest blow of the fight, a Round 3 knockdown. Toss in the only successful takedown of the bout, and you have yourself a tight but well-deserved unanimous decision win. Menifield turned 36 years of age in October, so time is certainly not on his side, but he's undefeated in his last five fights (4-0-1) and should be in line for a semi-notable opponent his next time out.
