Ulberg will compete against Anthony Smith in a light heavyweight fight at UFC 303 on June 29, according to UFC President Dana White.
ANALYSIS
Initially, Ulberg was scheduled to compete against former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jamahal Hill, who is currently dealing with a knee injury. Instead of facing a top-three contender in the division, Ulberg is settling for fighting a mainstay who recently defied betting odds by defeating Vitor Petrino at UFC 301.

Ulberg will fight Jamahal Hill in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 303 in Las Vegas on June 30, per Christopher Reive of the New Zealand Herald.
ANALYSIS
Ulberg will take on Hill riding a six-fight win streak, including his twelve-second knockout victory over Alonzo Menifield in May. "Black Jag" will look to continue his winning ways over the former UFC Light Heavyweight champion, with Hill coming into the fight having won four of his previous five bouts.

Ulberg defeated Alonzo Menifield via KO (punches) at 0:12 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in St. Louis.
ANALYSIS
We've seen enough from Ulberg to know he's a supremely talented fighter and doesn't need this type of help from his opponent to emerge victorious. He'll take it, of course. Menifield decided to blitz Ulberg the second the opening bell rang with a few wild shots. Carlos avoided the damage and pummeled his opponent with return fire, resulting in what was a perfectly justified stoppage from rarely-seen referee Nick Berens. The quick finish would go on to earn Ulberg one of two $50,000 Performance of the Night victories rewarded on the evening. Ulberg's secondary skills are still questionable, but his striking abilities are high-end. The Kiwi has won a half-dozen in a row on the heels of a knockout loss in his UFC debut back in March 2021.
