Undergoes surgery
Light HeavyweightUFC
July 2, 2021
Reyes underwent surgery on his left meniscus Thursday, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
Reyes was hit with a six-month medical suspension due to multiple facial injuries following his May 1 bout, but it appears his knee is also an issue that will presumably cost him some time. It's unclear exactly where his timetable for a return to the Octagon lands at this juncture, but his earliest date would be late October unless he gains medical clearance before then.
Looking at six-month suspension

Reyes is facing a six-month medical suspension, reports.
Reyes sustained multiple facial injuries in his epic battle with Jiri Prochazka last weekend. He will need to have it all cleared with a doctor if he wants to fight again before late October. Reyes is 12-3 in his 15 professional fights.
Drops epic war to Jiri Prochazka
Light HeavyweightUFC
May 1, 2021
Reyes lost to Jiri Prochazka via KO (elbow) at 4:29 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
This was a ridiculously entertaining fight and one in which Reyes' toughness was on full display. He ate dozens and dozens of shots from Prochazka that would have fallen any mere mortal, and he still kept coming. Not only did Reyes keep coming, but he kept landing offense of his own. He certainly broke his nose in Round 1 and continued to battle, seemingly oblivious to the damage he was absorbing. Reyes managed to hang in there until a spinning elbow in the later stages of Round 2 turned his lights out. There should be a congressional investigation opened if Reyes doesn't receive a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus for his efforts, and it was indeed confirmed as Fight of the Night by UFC President Dana White after the show. Of course, none of this will make Reyes feel any better. A little less than 15 months ago, Reyes dropped a unanimous decision to Jon Jones in a title fight in which many people thought he won. Now, he has dropped three in a row and finds himself at a career crossroads. Reyes is 31 years of age but has all of 15 professional fights under his belt. There's reason to believe Dom can rebound from this, but he now finds himself miles and miles from the title picture, even in a painfully thin division.
