Angela Hill

Next fight booked
June 30, 2020
Hill will take on Michelle Waterson in a strawweight matchup scheduled for Aug. 22 and expected to take place in Las Vegas, reports.
Hill came up on the short end of a controversial split decision last May against Claudia Gadelha, snapping a three-fight winning streak. For her fourth professional fight of 2020, Hill will now draw Waterson, another former Invicta FC champ who is also coming off a tough, split-decision loss. Hill has the statistical edge in terms of volume striking, but that could always be neutralized by Waterson's grappling, where she has a distinct edge. Hill does have a respectable takedown defense of 72 percent, however. Both women stand at 5-foot-3, while Hill will spot a two-inch reach advantage.

Drops heartbreaking decision
May 16, 2020
Hill lost to Claudia Gadelha via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Jacksonville.
This one was as close as the "split decision" term would lead you to believe. Hill looked strong despite the setback. She started slowly before finding her range in Round 2. Hill scored the only knockdown of the night in the second frame and continued her strong run through the early portions of Round 3. Gadelha swung the momentum a bit as the fight came to a close and went to the scorecards, but Hill controlled a good portion of the final frame. One can argue Hill deserved a better fate here. Hill's UFC record is somehow below .500 (7-8), but she proved again on Saturday that she's one of the more talented 115-pounders on the roster. She'll be back.

Hill comes into this fight with some momentum, as she has reeled off three consecutive wins. Her latest was a victory over Loma Lookboonmee via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 168 in February. Her opponent, Gadelha, sports a 6-4 UFC record.
Rolls to third consecutive victory
February 22, 2020
Hill defeated Loma Lookboonmee via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night 168 in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday.
Hill came into this fight as a late replacement, which marked her sixth fight in less than a calendar year. None of that seemed to deter "Overkill" as she consistently landed clean counter right hands on her opponent while using her physicality when necessary. It's fair to say more was expected of Hill when she came to the UFC, but she remains a tough test for any fighter in the division. She improves to 12-7 in professional MMA as a result of the win.

Hill steps in to replace Hannah Goldy, who was forced to withdraw due to a shoulder injury. The fight marks the fourth time Hill has been called upon as a short-notice replacement. She'll be looking for her third win in a row. Her opponent, Lookboonmee, has won her only UFC fight to date.
Gets stoppage in Raleigh
January 26, 2020
Hill defeated Hannah Cifers via TKO (elbows and punches) at 4:26 of Round 2 at UFC Raleigh on Saturday.
This was an impressive effort from Hill considering she took this fight on short notice against an opponent with the hometown crowd behind her. It was also a strong fantasy performance, as Hill racked up 70 significant strikes, a takedown and two advances before earning the second-round finish bonus. The takedown in the second round proved to be decisive, as Hill moved into full mount and started to rain down elbows, cutting Cifers open and forcing referee Kevin MacDonald to intervene. Hill has now secured back-to-back stoppages and is officially on her first winning streak since entering the UFC in 2017.
