Will face Jauregui
Souza will take on Yazmin Jauregui in a strawweight bout on UFC 306 in Las Vegas on Sept. 14, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Souza is coming off her first win in the UFC, knocking off Marnic Mann in late April via unanimous decision. That was a good bounce-back performance following a her debut with the promotion in which she was bested in the first round with a Kneebar. Her opponent Jauregui is also coming off a win.

Easily secures first UFC victory
Souza defeated Marnic Mann via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:33 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 55 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Souza wasn't competitive in her UFC debut, tapping to Karine Silva in less than two minutes. She predictably looked much better here against a much weaker opponent. Souza kept things simple and made things dirty, leading to a whopping 80-31 edge in terms of significant strikes landed. Mann did land a couple takedowns for 2:54 worth of control time, but Souza was never in any real trouble from a defensive standpoint. The Brazilian showed more good than bad on the regional scene prior to her company arrival, so perhaps there's some hope here still.

Mann up next
Souza is scheduled to compete against Marnic Mann in a strawweight fight at UFC Vegas 91 on April 27, per Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Souza has a second opportunity to fight in the UFC after a disappointing debut at UFC Vegas 74. It was then when she fought Karine Silva and tapped out to a kneebar not even multiple minutes into the bout. Perhaps fortunately for Souza, her next opponent was not much better in her relatively recent UFC debut, going the distance but losing decisively.

Quickly taps in UFC debut
Souza lost to Karine Silva via submission (kneebar) at 1:45 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 46 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Souza's UFC debut could not have gone any worse. Not only was she non-competitive in lasting less than two minutes, but she appeared to suffer a serious knee injury on the submission attempt which ended the fight. Silva released the hold as soon as Souza tapped, but the damage was already done. Very few fighters in today's UFC are one-and-done, so expect Souza to get another chance with the company whenever she is physically able to step back into the Octagon.

UFC debut in June
Souza will take on Karine Silva at UFC Vegas 74 on June 3, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Souza is set to make her UFC debut in early June. She holds a 13-3 MMA record and has not fought since mid-January. Silva scored a submission win in her UFC debut last June.
