Jessica Penne
Facing potential four-year ban
January 10, 2020
The USADA indicated Friday that Penne has tested positive for stanozolol and has decided to contest her case in front of an independent arbitrator, Aaron Bronsteter of reports. She posted on social media earlier in the day she is facing a four-year ban that would end her career.
It's unclear what Penne's plans are moving forward, but it doesn't seem like she will appear in an octagon anytime soon. More information on the subject should surface as it plays out in the coming days and weeks.

Penne withdrew from Sunday's fight against Jodie Esquibel at UFC Phoenix after sustaining a severe ankle sprain, Ariel Helwani of ESPN reports.
Penne came in two pounds over the strawweight limit at 118 pounds Saturday, but the ankle sprain she apparently suffered Sunday morning is the cause of her withdrawal. Misses mark for UFC Phoenix
February 16, 2019
Penne weighed in at 118 pounds Saturday morning -- two pounds over the strawweight limit -- for her matchup against Jodie Esquibel at UFC Phoenix, reports.
Penne's first weight cut since April of 2017 did not go well, but the fight will go on after she surrenders 20 percent of her fight purse to Esquibel. The 36-year-old Penne is fresh off an 18-month USADA suspension, and is looking to snap a three-fight losing streak in the UFC. Granted, at least two of those losses have been to elite competition, but if she's not competitive Saturday, the clock might be ticking on her fighting career. Nonetheless, she remains approximately a (-140) betting favorite as of Saturday night, though she did open at (-185) for the strawweight matchup.
