Rebounds with excellent effort
Tsarukyan defeated Damir Ismagulov via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Widely viewed as one of the top young fighters in the sport today, Tsarukyan rebounded in a major way from his unanimous decision defeat to Mateusz Gamrot in a main event spot in late-June. The two men fought to remarkably even terms on the feet, but it was the grappling of Arman that ended up being the difference. He attempted a whopping 21 takedowns, landing a third of them. The seven successful tries turned into 9:25 of control time, ensuring Tsarukyan the decision. This was a high-level fight between two excellent lightweights. Still just 26 years of age, Tsarukyan has won six of seven on the heels of a unanimous decision loss to current UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev in his UFC debut back in April 2019.

Matched up with Ismagulov
Tsarukyan will take on Damir Ismagulov at the UFC event on Dec. 17, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS

Win streak snapped at five
Tsarukyan lost to Mateusz Gamrot via unanimous decision (47-48, 47-48, 47-48) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was by no means a robbery, but there is most certainly a case to be made that Tsarukyan deserved a better fate, and it's shocking not a single judge scored the fight for him. The loss is particularly disappointing considering he entered as a -255 favorite and appeared to be up two rounds after the first ten minutes. He got increasingly less effective as the fight progressed, with Gamrot pulling away a bit over the course of the final ten minutes. All told, Arman finished with a 110-108 edge in total strikes landed, including a 95-81 advantage in those deemed significant, but Gamrot landed two takedowns a piece in each of the final three rounds to steal the win. Tsarukyan is 25 years old and can survive this setback without issue, although that doesn't make it sting any less. This defeat snaps a five-fight winning streak for Tsarukyan and is his first since his UFC debut against stud lightweight Islam Makhachev in April 2019. On the bright side, he'll take home an extra $50,000 after this bout was selected for Fight of the Night honors.

Set to headline UFC Vegas 57
Tsarukyan's scheduled lightweight matchup against Mateusz Gamrot has been elevated to the main event at UFC Vegas 57 on June 25, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old enters the event holding an 18-2-0 record in UFC action. Tsarukyan and Garmot's fight has been elevated to a five-round event which figures to be an exciting showdown between two accomplished fighters.

ANALYSIS
Tsarukyan and Gamrot rank 11th and 12th in the Lightweight division and will get a chance to duke it out to prove who actually deserves to be higher on the list. Tsarukyan is coming off of five consecutive victories, while Gamrot has picked up three straight wins. While Gamrot stands three inches taller than Tsarukyan, Tsarukyan still holds a two-inch reach advantage over his opponent.
