Fourth straight knockout loss
Light HeavyweightOther
August 12, 2023
Daukaus lost to Khalil Rountree via TKO (punches) at 2:40 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 51 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This can be a cruel sport at times. Moving down to 205 pounds following three straight knockout losses at heavyweight, Daukaus fared no better. He seemed to be in perfectly fine shape prior to the stoppage, but all it took was one left hand right up the middle from Rountree to plant him on his back and essentially end the fight in an instant. Daukaus looked like a rising star at heavyweight following four straight victories to begin his UFC run, but it's all fallen apart in the span of about a year and a half. A release will almost certainly be the outcome here.

Lasts 23 seconds in Vegas
Light HeavyweightOther
December 10, 2022
Daukaus lost to Jair Rozenstruik via KO (punch) at 0:23 of Round 1 at UFC 282 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
There isn't a ton to break down here from a technical standpoint. Daukaus, who entered fresh off back-to-back losses to Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes, ate a couple big shots moments after the opening bell rang and was never able to recover. The fight lasted all of 23 seconds, and referee Mark Smith could have easily stopped the proceedings earlier than he did. Daukaus began his UFC run with four straight knockout wins over lesser competition, but the roof has since caved in. The odds are against him receiving another opportunity with the company given his recent struggles.
