Remains perfect in UFC
BantamweightUFC
January 13, 2024
Basharat defeated Taylor Lapilus via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Basharat remains undefeated as a professional and perfect in three fights with the UFC. Recognizing the striking skills of his opponent, Farid fired off a whopping 16 takedown attempts. Five of them landed, good for a 31-percent clip and 6:58 worth of control time. He was never close to earning the stoppage, but it was quite clear that Basharat would be cruising to the unanimous decision win. Both Farid and his brother Javid are legitimate prospects, and their long-term ceilings have only been raised since arriving in Las Vegas and training with the likes of Dewey Cooper and Jake Shields on a daily basis.

Maintains undefeated pro record
BantamweightUFC
September 2, 2023
Basharat defeated Kleydson Rodrigues via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 4:15 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
Basharat looked pretty good in taking a unanimous decision from Da'Mon Blackshear -- who has looked great in his past two fights -- this past March and put forth an even better performance against Rodrigues. He connected on 2-of-5 takedowns attempts and racked up 3:15 worth of control time in a bout which lasted barely four minutes. He looked exceedingly comfortably on the mat in searching for the arm-triangle choke which closed the show. The 26-year-old is absolutely a fighter to keep an eye on at 135 pounds moving forward.

Takes decision in UFC debut
BantamweightUFC
March 4, 2023
Basharat defeated Da'Mon Blackshear via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 285 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This wasn't the rout many expected given the fact Basharat entered as upwards of a -450 favorite, but it was still a pretty strong showing from the 25-year-old newcomer. Every single time Blackshear appeared to be gaining some momentum, Farid got back on track. He landed three takedowns in all, one in each round. Basharat didn't accomplish a ton of the feet, landing just 76 total strikes, but his 5:28 worth of control time was enough to earn him the decision. Bantamweight is arguably the most loaded division in all the UFC, but Basharat is certainly a fighter worth keeping an eye on as 2023 progresses.
