Taking on Barez in London
Filho is scheduled to face Daniel Barez in a flyweight fight at the UFC's July 22 event in London, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Filho had initially committed to a bout with Juancamilo Ronderos on July 15 in Las Vegas, but the promotion opted to push his next fight back a week to a different card versus a different opponent. The 30-year-old Brazilian will head to London looking to avenge a loss to Muhammad Mokaev in March, which ended a five-fight winning streak.

Set to fight Ronderos
Filho agreed to face Juancamilo Ronderos in a flyweight bout at UFC's July 15 event, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Filho delivered a strong performance in his UFC debut against Muhammad Mokaev in March but still lost via submission (rear-naked choke) late in Round 3. Ronderos is 0-2 in the promotion and is coming off a defeat to Clayton Carpenter in February.

Nearly pulls huge upset
Filho lost to Muhammad Mokaev via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:32 of Round 3 at UFC 286 on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
The largest underdog on the entire 15-fight card at +575, Filho almost pulled a huge upset in his official UFC debut. He struggled with the elite grappling game of Mokaev all night long, as expected, but was able to clamp on a vicious leg lock midway through Round 3. Mokaev was in visible pain throughout, but somehow managed to pull through, and Filho found himself tapping out to a rear-naked choke not long after. It won't make the Brazilian feel any better, but he deserves credit for a strong effort here against a tough opponent in a hostile environment.

Set to face Mokaev
Filho will take on Muhammad Mokaev in a flyweight match at UFC 286 on March 18 in London, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Filho last fought in September, taking out Roybert Echeverria in the third round and increasing his winning streak to five. He's now slated to face the younger Muhammad Mokaev, who is riding an impressive 32 fight winning streak, and is 8-0 in pro MMA. Something has to give between these two winning fighters on big hot streaks, and Filho will look to hand Mokaev his professional loss in London.

First of five contracts handed out
Filho defeated Roybert Echeverria via TKO (punches) at 3:13 of Round 3 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of five fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Statistically, Filho lost the significant striking battle 29 to 34 and even allowed his opponent to earn slightly more control time, but he came through late when it mattered most. He battled through a leg injury early and continued to press forward until a left hook found its home in Round 3, which was the beginning of the end. Filho's official UFC debut may have to wait a bit, as he was seen getting carried by one of his cornermen after the fight and eventually was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. Once ready, though, a flyweight division in need of depth will gain a 29-year-old prospect.
