Earns UFC contract with win
Lee defeated Yi Zha via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
With a UFC contract on the line, this one was up for debate up until the final bell. Lee had a fluidity and power edge on the feet, but he wasn't able to remain upright with any consistency. He allowed Zha to land 5-of-21 takedown attempts, good for 8:19 worth of control time. Lee also caught a break in the latter stages of Round 2 when he was on his back and clocked Zha with an illegal kick to the head. Referee Mark Smith saw the foul and stopped the action, but for some reason he reset the two fighters and had them start on the feet. The 27-year-old has won seven straight. We'll see him again inside the Octagon.
