Jesse Ronson
The Body Snatcher

Canada
Let go by UFC
Ronson was released from the UFC on Tuesday, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After going five fights without a victory, it's hard to blame the UFC for cutting ties with the 37-year-old. He was last in the Octagon on Oct. 1 against Joaquim Silva.

Still searching for first UFC win
Ronson lost to Joaquim Silva via TKO (strikes) at 3:08 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Without a victory in his first five UFC fights (0-4, 1NC) over the course of two separate stints with the company, this was likely Ronson's final opportunity and he wasn't able to get the job done. His downfall came in the middle stages of Round 2 when he ate a knee from Silva which eventually ended the fight right then and there. Ronson ate a handful of follow-up shots before referee Keith Peterson finally pulled the plug. It's going to be difficult for the UFC to run the soon-to-be 37-year-old Canadian back out there.

New fighter named
Ronson will take on Joaquim Silva at the UFC event on Oct. 1, Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva will replace Vinc Pichel, who had to withdraw earlier this week with an injury. Silva has not fought since June of 2021. Ronson ended his own long layoff back in April when he was submitted by Rafa Garcia.

Opponent withdraws
Ronson will no longer fight Vinc Pichel at a UFC event on Oct. 1, and he will search for a new opponent following Pichel's withdrawal.
ANALYSIS
Ronson will need to find a new opponent for his lightweight matchup scheduled for Oct. 1. The 5-foot-10 Candian fighter was set to take on Vinc Pichel, but he was forced to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury.

Scheduled for October 1 fight
Ronson will fight Vinc Pichel in a lightweight fight at a UFC event on October 1 , Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Ronson looks to get his first victory in the UFC ranks in October. The two fighters stand the same 5-foot-10 inches, though Ronson faces a 1.5 inch reach disadvantage. Ronson will need to keep the fight off the ground, as Pichel averages 3.00 takedown attempts per 15 minutes, landing on 54% of his attempts.

Routed in return from long layoff
Ronson lost to Rafa Garcia via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:50 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was Ronson's first fight in nearly two years and it didn't go well. He lost Round 1, but wasn't completely overwhelmed by Garcia. That certainly wasn't the case in Round 2. In the second frame alone, Ronson allowed his opponent to land both of his takedown attempts and spent more than four minutes (4:02) being controlled. Ronson was ten seconds from seeing the final frame, but the rear-naked choke which ended the fight was clamped on so tight he had no choice but to tap out. This was an extremely disappointing effort from a fighter who entered as a -135 favorite.
