Debut scheduled
Micallef will fight Kevin Jousset at UFC 312 on Feb. 8, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Micallef earned a UFC contract in October by defeating Mohamed Ado in a Contender Series fight and will carry a 7-1 professional record into his debut against Jousset. The 25-year-old Micallef has two inches of reach over his next opponent but will need to make up for a lack of experience versus Jousset, who is six years older than the Australian welterweight.

Earns contract in DWCS finale opener
Micallef defeated Mohamed Ado via technical submission (triangle choke) at 3:01 of Round 1 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of four fighters to be awarded a UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
In this season's finale of Contender Series, the evening's opener was a grappling showcase that the 25-year-old Australian got the best of. Both men were credited with takedowns here, but when Ado attempted a ninja choke, Micallef was able to roll out and initiate the triangle in the resulting scramble. It was Micallef who had to alert referee Herb Dean that his opponent was out, which was quickly confirmed. While White was certainly impressed, there are a lot of question marks about Micallef still, who has just eight pro bouts under his belt.
