Re-scheduled against Cowan
BantamweightUFC
February 22, 2024
Vidal is scheduled to compete against Hailey Cowan in a bantamweight fight at the UFC's May 18 event, according to Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Back in March 2023, Vidal was expected to fight Cowan in a short-notice fight in San Antonio. However, medical problems forced the former to withdraw from fighting Cowan. Since then, both fighters have fought once each and lost via decision. In Vidal's case, she suffered a split-decision defeat to Montserrat Rendon at UFC Vegas 79.

Drops split decision as favorite
BantamweightUFC
September 23, 2023
Vidal lost to Montserrat Rendon via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was an ugly performance from Vidal as a -270 favorite against a 34-year-old debuting opponent. The Brazilian pulled ahead in Round 1 with some good work on the feet, but she allowed Rendon to get her grappling game going over the course of the final ten minutes, which ultimately ended up being the difference in what was a fairly close fight. Vidal drops to 1-1 in the UFC. She knocked out Ramona Pascual in just over three minutes in her company debut last November.
Draws Rendon in September
BantamweightUFC
July 19, 2023
Vidal (undisclosed) will take on the debuting Montserrat Rendon in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Vegas 79 on Sep. 23, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Vidal impressed with a first-round finish of Ramona Pascual last November that went on to win her a Performance of the Night bonus, but she was forced to withdraw from a subsequent matchup against Hailey Cowan due to medical issues. With that presumably corrected, she now draws a debuting fighter with a 5-0 record on the regional scene but without a finish in her pro MMA career. Vidal will give up two inches in height to Rendon, while both sport an identical reach.
Out of fight with medical issues
BantamweightUFC
March 23, 2023
Vidal (undisclosed) has withdrawn from Saturday's bout against Hailey Cowan, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Vidal is dealing with medical issues and will not be able to fight. This fight was thrown together pretty late as it is, but this issue will removed a fight from UFC San Antonio's card. It's unclear why Vidal will be able to return to competition.
Set to face Cowan on Saturday
BantamweightUFC
March 20, 2023
Vidal is set to take on Hailey Cowan at UFC San Antonio on March 25, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Vidal had a POTN-winning knockout in her UFC debut against Ramona Pascual last February and has won her last six professional bouts. She now draws the debuting Cowan -- a product of DWCS -- in a late addition to the card set to open up the early prelims. As of the start of fight week, Vidal finds herself approximately a (+115) betting underdog.
Knockout win in UFC debut
BantamweightUFC
November 5, 2022
Vidal defeated Ramona Pascual via TKO (knee) at 3:06 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The debuting Vidal had zero issues with her heavy opponent in her company debut. Neither woman got a heck of a lot going in the first few minutes of the fight, but Vidal eventually was able to push forward and connect with a pair of knees, first to the head and then to the body, finishing off Pascual in the process. It was the first knockout victory of Vidal's brief, eight-fight professional career, and it came in her biggest bout to date. Vidal has theoretical upside because she turned just 24 years of age this past July, but we need to see her against a bit better competition in order to get a feel for just how high her ceiling actually is. In the meantime, she'll take home one of four $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses for her efforts here.
