Cowan (undisclosed) is scheduled to compete against Tamires Vidal in a bantamweight fight at the UFC's May 18 event, according to Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Half a year after bowing out of UFC Paris, Cowan is scheduled to partake in a fight for the promotion. Back in March 2023, she was expected to take a short-notice fight against Vidal in San Antonio. That fight fell through after Vidal withdrew with a medical issue. Since then, Cowan has debuted for the UFC, a decision loss to Jamey-Lyn Horth.

Cowan is scheduled to fight Zarah Fairn in a bantamweight bout at UFC Paris on Sept. 2, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Despite losing her first UFC fight after missing weight, Cowan will have a second opportunity to redeem herself. Fortunately for Cowan, it may be favorable to her. Fairn has an 0-3 record across her UFC tenure thus far. However, it is important to note she suffered all losses at featherweight, is moving down a weight class and was 2-0 at bantamweight outside the top promotion.

Cowan lost to Jamey-Lyn Horth via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Cowan's loss comes on the heels of her missing weight by 1.5 pounds Friday morning. She forfeited 20 percent of her purse to Horth in order for the bout to proceed and still walked out of the UFC Apex with a defeat. Cowan was by no means embarrassed inside the Octagon, landing a couple takedowns and racking up nearly five minutes (4:50) worth of control time, but it wasn't enough. Already 31 years of age, Cowan was fortunate to earn a UFC opportunity considering she managed just a split decision victory on Dana White's Contender Series last August. She could very easily be fighting for her job in her second bout with the company.

Cowan missed weight for her matchup with Jamey-Lyn Horth at UFC Vegas 72 on Saturday, and she'll forfeit 20 percent of her purse with the fight continuing at a catchweight, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cowan had her UFC debut pushed back twice over the past six months and was in danger of another cancelation after she came in 1.5 pounds over the bantamweight limit at Friday's weigh-ins. However, Horth, who is also making her UFC debut, agreed face a heavy opponent with a purse penalty.
