Isak is coming off his best season as a professional, lighting the league up with a career-high 23 goals, finishing second in the Golden Boot race. He added six assists and had multi-goal contribution games in six different outings. While seemingly dealing with a nagging injury the majority of the second half of the season, he battled through and started 34 matches. His summer has been thrown into disarray as he pushes for a move away from Newcastle. With reports that he is refusing to play for the club again it's hard to see him suiting up on Tyneside during the 2025/26 campaign. If he does get his move to Liverpool he would remain one of the top strikers in the league and an elite option in all competitions.
Not an option, possibility Sunday
Isak (groin) is out for Tuesday's match against Real Madrid, according to manager Arne Slot. "[Alex is] not available for tomorrow. With Alex, we have to wait and see. Definitely not starting on Sunday, but maybe he can be involved in the squad. He is still not training with the team, so we have to wait and see."

Isak was forced off with a groin injury at half time of Wednesday's 5-1 win over Frankfurt, manager Arne Slot said in a press conference. "When he came, he hardly had trained, so you bring him step by step forward and then you feel there must be a moment where he can play twice a week - he did it with Sweden as well. But the first time we tried he had to go off and let's hope it is not that bad. He had to come off because he felt his groin.
