Affengruber was a defensive standout for Elche in 2025/26, starting 33 of 36 La Liga games and posting enormous peripheral numbers, 178 clearances, 74 tackles, 51 interceptions and 26 blocks. That elite volume makes him one of the best clearance-and-block center backs in the division, ideal for defensive-stat formats, though he offers little going forward. Austria's quite early World Cup exit means he is back in good time. Elche enter the season under new manager Martin Anselmi after coach Eder Sarabia departed, but the Austrian's durability and output make him a likely starter. Six clean sheets reflects a recent promoted-side defense, capping the shutout upside, but the sheer stat volume gives him a strong floor. For fantasy, he is a cheap, high-volume defender well worth targeting in formats that reward the unglamorous work at the back.
