2025 Fantasy Outlook
Rodri only had a small sample after an ACL tear left him sidelined for nearly the entire campaign. He returned for the final few games and saw even more time during the Club World Cup, so the thought is that he'll be close to 100 percent for the start of 2025/26. If that's the case and he remains fit, he could hold his usual midfield role the majority of the season with 30-plus starts in play. At his peak a couple years ago, he was frequently involved in goals, totaling eight goals and nine assists. It's hard to see him being near those numbers this season, but as long as he's on the pitch, he'll have the ball near the top of the box and good things usually happen for City in those instances.
Comeback unlikely before November
Rodri (hamstring) is unlikely going to be available before November, coach Pep Guardiola suggested in a press conference. "I don't think so. Aston Villa I don't think so either. It's not long but it's muscular. We have to be careful. We tried many times to prevent another injury but we have not been able to do that so we will see."
ANALYSIS
Rodri is unlikely to be available for the two remaining fixtures in October against Villarreal and Aston Villa, according to coach Pep Guardiola. The Spaniard is dealing with a minor muscular injury and is being managed carefully to avoid any major setback. Nico Gonzalez will likely replace him in midfield until he fully recovers.
