Best behavior required for six months
Collarbone
September 26, 2019
Kyrgios was placed in a six-month probationary period by the ATP on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
This move stems from Kyrgios' outburst back in mid-August at the Western & Southern Open. For now, he'll still be able to play on tour as normal, but the ATP will suspend him for six months if he commits any code violations for verbal or physical abuse, unsportsmanlike conduct or visible obscenity towards an official. He's also required to seek out mental health professionals to fulfill his obligations of the probation. Even though he's able to play now, he's currently dealing with a collarbone injury and has withdrawn from both Beijing and Shanghai, meaning he might not play again before the 2019 season comes to an end.
