Best EuroBasket Bets for Thursday, September 4
All odds current as of 5:45 PM ET Wednesday.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 27.5 Points (-115 bet365)
It's not exactly a bold call to take the best player in the tournament going over in the points column, but there is ample reason to do so. First off, Greece is coming off a game in which he sat out and lost. Secondly, while they don't need to win to continue, this will be a statement game for Team Greece, as they will have to defeat teams like Spain to win the title. The Spanish squad has been beaten regularly inside dating back to the last Olympics, and with a similar roster I think Antetokounmpo is primed to top the 30-point mark.
Darius Thompson Over 11.5 Points+Assists (-115 bet365)
Thompson cost us a sweep earlier this week, but he does allow me to do something I've been going with regularly in the competition, which is using role players on the favored team against Cyprus. Thompson could get some garbage time, which would still give him a chance to go over in the fourth quarter if need be.
Sandro Mamukelashvili Over 16.5 Points+Assists (-105 bet365)
This wasn't a published play last time around, but I did go with it on the side, and while he did not score much he did smash in the assists category. Goga Bitadze could have his hands full with Jusuf Nurkic on Thursday, and that could open up more scoring opportunities for Mamukelashvili this time around.
Jaylen Hoard Over 8.5 Points (+105 bet365)
Hoard has quietly been impressive on both ends of the floor, and he is fourth in minutes per game for the new-look French team. Hoard gets a great matchup against Iceland, and it doesn't hurt that he topped this number in the last two games Alex Sarr sat out.
