FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

The NBA has seven games on tap Sunday, at the upper end of average for a Sunday. There is one early game at 4:30 ET, so FanDuel is offering two main sets of games: an early four-pack including the 4:30 and three 6:00 ET games, and a "main" six-pack including every game but the early one. The early game has a lot of moderately priced talent available for potentially building a balanced roster. But in the later game, there's big guns like a trio of former Thunder teammates in James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant that are all going against beatable defenses. Keep this in mind when building your teams.

Guard (premium)

James Harden, HOU vs DAL ($11,200): This slot was a toss-up between Harden and Westbrook, both of whom have 70-fantasy-point potential on any given day. Ultimately, Harden gets the call because he's priced $1800 cheaper. Both have excellent matchups against very beatable defenses.

Guard (moderate)

Deron Williams, DAL at HOU ($6200): Williams has had one massive game and one solid game thus far, averaging 19.5 points and 5.5 assists through two outings. He faces a weak Rockets defense Sunday in a game that is likely to be up-and-down the court.

Guard (affordable)

Tyler Johnson, MIA vs SA ($4500): Johnson comes off the bench, but he's playing almost 30 minutes per game and is often in the crunch-time lineup. He's averaging 13.5 points, 6.0 boards, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals with pretty consistent contributions

Forward (premium)

Kevin Durant, GS at PHO ($9700): Durant has been the unquestioned top option for the Warriors so far, which has actually been a bit of a surprise. However, he will bring his averages of 28.5 points, 13.5 boards, 5.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals into Phoenix to face a defense that has given up 113 points in both games thus far and just got torched by Durant't former teammate Russell Westbrook to the tune of 51 points in a triple-double.

Forward (moderate)

Markieff Morris, WAS at MEM ($5600): Morris is playing well right now. He finished off the preseason with a 19-point/six-rebound/three-assist/three-block effort, then opened the regular season with 22 points, four boards, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot against the Hawks. This is the level where he was before his lost season last year, but his price tag hasn't yet caught up to that type of production.

Forward (affordable)

Andre Roberson, OKC vs LAL ($4200): Roberson is the defensive specialist in the backcourt for the Thunder, and he has translated that to averages of 9.0 boards, 3.5 steals and 1.0 blocks through the first two games. He is not much of a scorer, but the Lakers are weak enough on defense that he could end up adding a few points to the excellent defensive numbers on Sunday.

Center (premium)

Andre Drummond, DET vs MIL ($7900): Drummond bounced back from a poor opener with 12 points and 20 boards in only 28 minutes in a blowout win over the Magic. The Bucks are notoriously weak in the middle, ranking last in the NBA in production allowed to opposing centers, and are also playing on the second game of a back-to-back.

Center (moderate)

Marcin Gortat, WAS at MEM ($6300): Gortat's shot was off in the opener, but he still notched 11 boards against the Hawks. Expect him to bounce back in the scoring column Sunday in a matchup against Marc Gasol, with Gasol playing in the second game of a back-to-back.

Center (affordable)

Dewayne Dedmon, SA at MIA ($4100): Dedmon is always a risk due to his reserve nature, as he only played 16 minutes Saturday. However, through two games he was averaging 7.0 points, 7.5 boards and 3.0 block. With the Spurs on the second of a back-to-back, they could call on Dedmon to give Pau Gasol's older legs some rest.
