2018
Building off of a 2017-2018 campaign in which he started 81 games and played in all 82, Ingles did one better in 2018-19. The Aussie started every contest and further established himself as a reliable and versatile player for the Jazz. This was the third season in a row in which Ingles appeared in all 82 games. The 31-year-old settled in as a secondary scoring option during the year, finishing fourth on the team with 12.1 points per game. For the second straight year, Ingles hoisted more than 5.7 three-point attempts per game, and he shot 39.1 percent from behind the arc. He finished with a total of 189 made 3-pointers, which was one ahead of teammate Donovan Mitchell and good for 14th in the league. Ingles' shooting ability made him a good floor spacer around slashers Mitchell and Ricky Rubio, as well as inside presence Rudy Gobert. "Slow Mo Joe" also fit in well with the team's defensive identity and helped push the Jazz to second in the league's defensive rankings. For the third straight year, Ingles averaged more than a steal per game, and the veteran garnered two votes for the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. Adding to his well-rounded game, Ingles once again averaged right around four rebounds per game. He also made a nice jump in assists, going from 4.8 per game in 2017-18 to 5.7 per game in 2018-19, which was good for second on the team behind Rubio.
