Mykhailiuk played in 56 of a possible 66 games, with 27 starts, for the Pistons during the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season. He set per-game career highs in points (9.0), threes (2.1), rebounds (1.9), assists (1.9) and steals (0.7). Mykhailiuk also set career highs in field-goal percentage (41.0), three-point percentage (40.4) and free-throw percentage (81.4). His longest streak of double-digit scoring was nine games from Jan. 11 through Jan. 27. Over that span, Mykhailiuk averaged 15.3 points, 3.0 threes, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 30.0 minutes per game. On Jan. 18 during a win at Atlanta, Mykhailiuk scored a career-high 25 points to go with three assists, two rebounds, a steal and a block. Twice in January, the 15th and the 18th, the sharp shooter hit a career-high five three-pointers. On Mar. 7, the second-year veteran dished a career high six assists during a home loss to the Jazz. He had 26 performances with at least 10 points, six performances with at least five rebounds and four performances with at least five assists. The Ukraine Maker also had 30 games with at least one steal. He made at least four threes in 11 games. In the 12 contests that Mykhailiuk saw at least 30 minutes of playing time, he averaged 13.3 points, 3.0 three-pointers, 2.9 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals per contest.2018
Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, a second-round 2018 draft pick out of Kansas, made his NBA debut in 2018-2019 after a productive four-year run with the Jayhawks. He started the year with the Lakers in a bench role and also played five games with the G League Lakers. The 22-year-old averaged 3.3 points per game across 39 games in Los Angeles, averaging 10.8 minutes per contest. On Dec. 15, he scored a season-high 12 points in a win over Charlotte. While he generally saw limited playing time for the Lakers, he did play more than 20 minutes in a game on four occasions. Mykhailiuk was traded to Detroit on Feb. 5 in a deal that brought Reggie Bullock to the Lakers. "Svi" played in only three games with the Pistons, averaging 2.0 points per game on 6.7 minutes per contest. He also spent some time with Grand Rapids in the G League, where he received more playing time. In three games with the Drive, Mykhailiuk played 28 minutes per night and averaged 14 points per game. On Apr. 5, back with Detroit, the sharp shooter was diagnosed with a broken left index finger that led to surgery one week later. Ideally, Mykhailiuk will be healthy in time for the 2019 Summer League games.
