2024 Fantasy Outlook
Injuries have derailed Martin's career in the NBA, and the 2023-24 season wasn't any different. The former Nevada standout was limited to just 28 appearances (22 starts) in the previous campaign due to a number of injuries, as he didn't make his season debut until late December and registered his last appearance on March 1. His production was decent in 2023-24, as he averaged 7.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists across 26.9 minutes per game. However, those numbers shouldn't generate a lot of fantasy consideration outside of deep formats, especially since he's expected to play off the bench for a rebuilding Hornets team in 2024-25. Focus on other targets in the later rounds of your drafts, as Martin shouldn't be an option in standard formats. Read Past Outlooks

Set to enter free agency
The Suns won't guarantee Martin's $8.6 million contract for 2025-26, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Phoenix's decision allows Martin to enter free agency this summer. The veteran swingman landed with the Suns as part of the Jusuf Nurkic trade during the 2024-25 season, and Martin averaged 3.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.9 steals in 14.7 minutes across 14 outings in the desert. Martin's positional versatility and solid defense should give him some interest on the open market.

Martin played just seven games during the 2022-23 season as a result of a mysterious knee injury. The Hornets lived up to their reputation of being arguably the worst team in the league when it comes to injury reporting. Despite no word on the exact injury or the timetable for his return, Martin was consistently listed as questionable or doubtful, despite barely touching the floor. Assuming he is fully healthy, Martin could play a meaningful role for the Hornets, at least putting him on the standard league radar. With that said, he does not have a particularly fantasy-friendly game, limiting his overall upside. Managers would likely be better off targeting anyone with upside, at least until Martin's role becomes apparent.

Suns could move him
The Suns could move Martin to get under the second apron, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The same is true for Vasilije Micic, Scotto notes. Martin, whose $8.68 million salary for the 2025-26 season is non-guaranteed, is a candidate to be waived if the Suns are unable to move him via trade. Martin is likely to draw considerable trade interest, however, as he's a versatile two-way rotation player with career averages of 6.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists on 43.6 percent shooting from the field.
