After a relatively strong showing during his second season in the NBA, Landale landed a three-year deal with the Rockets. He served as the backup behind Deandre Ayton during the 2022-23 season, averaging 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game. He is likely to see a similar role in Houston, playing behind Alperen Sengun. Landale suffered an ankle injury in the lead-up to the FIBA World Cup, ruling him out of the competition. Although there are still two months until the start of the regular season, there is a chance he is not available for the start of training camp, at the very least. With that said, it should not delay his Rockets debut too much, meaning managers should get a good look at his role. Unless the team opts to utilize him as a floor-spacing five, affording him at least 22 minutes per night, he is not going to be a standard league asset. Read Past Outlooks

Landale finished Friday's 106-100 loss to the Clippers with two points (1-2 FG) and three rebounds across seven minutes.
ANALYSIS Landale played double-digit minutes in each of his first four appearances in November but has now been held below 10 minutes in his last three appearances. He's averaged 0.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 5.3 minutes per game during that time and doesn't have much fantasy upside as long as Alperen Sengun is healthy.

CPhoenix Suns
June 19, 2023
Landale is among the impending free agents the Suns will try to re-sign in the offseason, Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS The Suns became the latest super team in the NBA after adding Bradley Beal to a roster featuring Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Deandre Ayton. Even though there are moves to be made and other trades that could happen between now and the start of free agency, the Suns' front office is already thinking about players to round out the roster, and Landale is among the free agents they're looking to re-sign. Landale mostly handled a reserve role last year, but he played at least 20 minutes 16 times, averaging 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds during those contests. The 27-year-old could see an even larger role in Year 3, especially if the Suns opt to move on from Ayton this offseason.
Landale now finds himself in Phoenix, likely playing backup minutes behind Deandre Ayton. Despite an underwhelming rookie season, Landale did manage to cobble together a few excellent performances, highlighted by a career-high 27 points in a loss to Indiana in early March. He added seven rebounds and two steals, going 12-of-15 from the floor during that game. Looking ahead to the 2022-23 season, it is unlikely Landale sees enough playing time to warrant significant attention in fantasy leagues. If Ayton is to miss time at any point, managers may want to just keep Landale on their radar, given his untapped upside.
