Before the big game kicks off, DraftKings is offering a $1k top prize along with a regular allotment of CBB DFS contests for a four-game slate. Let's take a peek at the implied totals before diving into Sunday's slate.
Targets
1. Caleb Daniels, G, Villanova ($4,800 DK) 
Of course, whenever Luka Garza is on the slate, he's at close to an auto-lock as it gets -- especially after scoring 52.0 his last time out against Indiana. So the focus of the "targets" section today will be finding salary relief to help squeeze in the Wooden Award candidate. Daniels is a prime candidate, checking in with a usage rate of 21.3 percent over his last 10 games. He scored 18 real-life points against Georgetown earlier this season, has a sub-$5k salary and checks in on the team with the day's highest implied point total.
2. Tylan Pope, G, Tulane ($5,100 DK) 
The matchup isn't great, but any time you get a clear usage leader on this type of hot streak at $5,100, you have to at least consider it. The freshman has started back-to-back games for the Green Wave, putting up 31.3 and 28.0 DK points. Don't let a season-long 15.2 mpg average fool you -- Pope has played 22.0 mpg over his last five contests. He's not the only salary-relief play for Tulane, however, as Jaylen Forbes offers a much higher floor for just $5,900. He's put up 25.9 DK points/game in six outings in 2021.
3. Ben Krikke, F, Valparaiso ($5,400 DK) 
We again need to make a few sacrifices to work Garza in, and despite playing on a team with the day's lowest implied total, Krikke was solid Saturday when the Crusaders scored 13 more points than today's projected mark. Some might flock to Sheldon Edwards ($3,500 DK) after he came out of nowhere to have his best game of the year, but it's much safer to go with someone who has done it consistently, as Krikke is the team's usage leader over Valpo's last 10 games.
Fades
1.Roman Penn, G, Drake ($7,900 DK) 
There's no room for an extra player at this type of salary when Luka Garza is in town, and this is especially true when he hasn't hit 4x at that mark for four consecutive games. His usage rate was only the third-highest among starters in Saturday's matchup, and the offensive rating was the second-lowest among players who saw 20-plus minutes.
2. Jahvon Blair, G, Georgetown ($8,100 DK) 
This one will be my riskiest fade because of the possible ceiling, but I just can't trust Blair against Villanova. In his last three games dating back to 2019, Blair has put up 19.8, 13.3 and 10.3 DK points. The minutes and usage are there, but using someone like Blair over the likes of Trayce Jackson-Davis ($8,300 DK) or Jeremiah Robinson-Earl ($7,400) -- assuming Garza is locked in -- is a mistake in my eyes, especially in single entry or cash.
3. Donovan Clay, G, Valparaiso ($6,400 DK)
While a few Valpo players show promise despite the day's lowest implied total, I'm fading the high-priced option here. He's shooting 36.7 percent from the field over the last three games while failing to hit 4x at today's salary at any point in that stretch. Going up against an undefeated Drake team that allows opponents to shoot just 30.0 percent from distance is not the way to snap out of that funk.
