FanDuel College Basketball: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel College Basketball: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel College Basketball series.

Conference play is in full swing, and as such, FanDuel has cranked up their Saturday offerings. We're looking at a 14-game early slate that tips at Noon EST, a six game mid-afternoon slate that tips between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and an eight-game evening slate with tips starting at 7:00 p.m.

Here's a look at a handful of potential value options in each slate.

Early Slate

Marshall Plumlee, F, Duke ($6,300)

Plumlee's biggest appeal is his playing time. Duke is perilously thin along their front line, which has resulting in at least 31 minutes for Plumlee in three straight outings. He's scored at least 23 fantasy points in two of those outings, and as long as he can stay out of foul trouble, he should stumble into similar production against the Hokies.

Kerry Blackshear, F, Virginia Tech ($5,500)

Blackshear seems to have appeal on two separate fronts. On one hand, his 6-foot-10, 240-pound frame could do some damage against the aforementioned depleted Blue Devils front line, as he's averaged 9.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in two ACC games thus far. On the other hand, the game has a 17-point spread and Blackshear could find his way into meaningless production. He's a feast or famine option coming off the bench.

Robert Hubbs, G, Tennessee ($6,100)

Priced just slightly under the average, Hubbs has been a steady fantasy producer, only once providing fewer than 17.9 fantasy points. He hasn't topped 25 fantasy points since his first two games, but there is a lot to be said for the steady mid-tier production.

Others to consider: Noah Dickerson, F, Washington State ($4,900); Jessie Govan, F, Georgetown ($5,300); Allerik Freeman, G, Baylor ($5,600); Derrick Gordon, G, Seton Hall ($5,200)

Afternoon Slate

Steve Vasturia, G, Notre Dame ($5,900) and V.J. Beachem, F, Notre Dame ($6,300)

The Irish offense, at least from a national perspective, is all about Demetrius Jackson and Zach Auguste. And while that's rightfully deserved, the Irish are another team that plays very few players and scores at a high rate, averaging over 78 points per game. Both Beachem and Vasturia are averaging over 30 minutes per outing, scoring in double figures and providing enough peripheral numbers that make them both rock solid options in cash games and tournament.

Kamau Stokes, G, Kansas State ($5,400)

Stokes is a prime bounce-back candidate after his worst outing of the year Tuesday against Texas, when he failed to score and provided two rebounds and four assists. Prior to that outing, his season-low was 16.1 fantasy points. Stokes makes for a very solid lower-tier option in all formats against a Sooners defense that has allowed over 80 points in three of their last four games.

Others to consider: Davon Reed, G, Miami ($5,400); Obinna Oleka, F, Arizona State ($5,900)

Late Slate

Kaleb Tarczewski, F, Arizona ($6,200)

Back from injury, Tarczewski shined in his return to the starting lineup Thursday, posting his second double-double of the season. He's seen his price increase marginally due to that 12-point, 12-rebound outing, and Saturday is likely the last chance to buy Tarczewski's steady production at a bargain.

Malique Trent, G, TCU ($6,200)

If Trent can keep his turnovers down, he has the potential to be a nightly contributor. He's had at least three turnovers seven times this season, which has resulted in him playing over 30 minutes five times. Even still, Trent is averaging 21.7 fantasy points per game, and he appears to offer the most upside in the Horned Frogs' offense. Trent has topped 25 fantasy points just twice, but he has been held under 20 points only twice, seemingly making him another safe and steady choice against the Longhorns.

Others to consider: Charles Mann, G, Georgia ($5,200); Prince Williams, G, ECU ($5,700), Brannen Greene, G, Kansas ($4,600)
