Returning to Lubbock

July 7, 2021
Shannon announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he will withdraw from the 2021 NBA Draft and return to Texas Tech for the 2021-22 season.
ANALYSIS
This is massive news for Texas Tech and new head coach Mark Adams. The Red Raider roster has been decimated by transfers since Chris Beard decided to take the Texas job. Shannon is coming off a season in which he averaged 12.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.1 three-pointers per contest. That was all done despite only starting 13 games last season. Shannon is in line for a huge season and proving he is worthy of a first round draft selection.
