Buie enters as the highest-rated recruit in this year's class, but coach Chris Collins believes he was under-recruited and has the potential to out-perform his ranking. What the Wildcats need is some stability at the position, with Ryan Greer (1.5 ppg and 0.9 apg in 2018-19) representing one of the few pure point guards on the roster. Both Anthony Gaines and AJ Turner spent time at the position last season, but both are better suited to play off the ball. In steps Buie, who offers more of a scoring dimension due to his ability to attack the rim, and has also garnered praise for his defensive prowess. Earning the starting job out of the gates is a possible -- if not likely -- outcome.
