Rotating first-team reps in spring
March 23, 2021
Card is rotating first-team reps with Casey Thompson in spring practice, Nick Moyle of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Card was a highly touted 2020 recruit who spent his freshman season as the third-stringer behind Sam Ehlinger and Thompson. With Ehlinger gone, a competition between Card and Thompson is brewing. Thompson got the chance to impress in relief of Ehlinger in the bowl game but the fact that Texas has a new coaching staff should help level the playing field. Look for Card and Thompson to compete well into fall camp before a winner is named.
