Rajasthan Royals vs. Kings IX Punjab: Fourth IPL Match Preview

Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab will lock horns in the game four of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 season in Jaipur on Monday. Both teams will be playing their first game in the competition, therefore they would like to start their new campaign on a high, with the home side feeling relatively confident going in their season opener, as they have a pretty decent record with 10 wins out of total 17 played against KXIP.

In the batting department, the Royals will be depending heavily on captain Ajinkya Rahane and England's duo of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes to score bulk of the runs, whereas on the bowling front, the onus will be on pacers Jofra Archer, Jaydev Unadkat and Varun Aaron to provide timely breakthroughs.

On the other hand, Kings XI will be optimistic as well going in the match as they have won three out of last five matches played against Rajasthan. In the batting department, Punjab will be depending on the likes of West Indies explosive veteran opener Chris Gayle, wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul, Karun Nair and young Nicholas Pooran to score bulk of the runs, whereas on the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of captain Ravichandran Ashwin, pacers Mohammad Shami, England's Sam Curran and Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman to provide timely breakthroughs. Jaipur pitch is usually good for batting with more assistance for pacers than spinners and there is not much different expected for the match on Monday.

Key Players:

Jos Buttler (10.5 Cr)

First in the list of key players features Rajasthan Royals' Jos Buttler. The England international is a renowned talent in the shortest format of the game and is famous for his explosive style of batting. It was this time last year when Buttler, while representing Royals, made his case for opening the batting after a stunning season in the IPL where he scored 548 runs in 13 appearances at an average of 54.80 with the help of five half-centuries. Therefore, keeping his record for the team in mind, he is definitely the player to have in your team.

Chris Gayle (10 Cr)

Second in the list of key players features Kings XI Punjab's Chris Gayle. The veteran opener is a proven talent in the league and had a really good time with the franchise in the previous edition where he scored 368 runs in 11 outings at an average of 40.88 with the help of one century and three fifties. Gayle has shown great form for West Indies of late and is one to have in your team.

Ravichandran Ashwin (9 Cr)

Last in the list of key players features Kings XI Punjab's captain Ravichandran Ashwin. The veteran off-spinner is one of the most successful spinner in the league's history. In the previous season, Ashwin had a below-par season where he claimed just 10 wickets in 14 matches. Since it is a World Cup year and players will know that the IPL is their chance to prove to the selectors that they deserve to be on the plane for the mega event, a great season from the veteran offie is not out of question.
