Which Week 5 Games Are Too Close To Call?

There are four games the came out even after 10 ChatGPT projections for NFL Week 5: The Houston Texans at the Baltimore Ravens, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Seattle Seahawks, the Washington Commanders at the Los Angeles Chargers and the neutral-site game between the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings in London.

We're picking the Bucs-Seahawks game as the most intriguing, as two teams with 3-1 records meet in their 50th anniversary seasons. Since they came into the NFL together as expansion teams in 1976, Tampa Bay has won two Super Bowls and Seattle has captured one. But the Seahawks have the edge in all-time playoff appearances (20-15) and all-time winning percentage (.520 to a league-worst .412 for the Bucs).

Customers using the BetMGM bonus code can get the Bucs at +3000 odds to win Super Bowl 60, as of Oct. 1, while the Seahawks have +4000 odds to take their second Vince Lombardi Trophy.

As for Sunday, the Bucs lead the NFC South, in pursuit of their fifth consecutive division title. Their defense is fourth in the league in fewest yards allowed and rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, a first-round draft choice out of Ohio State, is eighth in the NFL at 15.7 yards per catch and leads the team in receiving yards (282) and touchdowns (four).

Seattle is sixth in the league in points (111) and tied for second in fewest points allowed (67) through four games. They also have a top-notch receiver in Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who is second in the NFL in receiving yards (402) and tied for sixth in catches (26).

The Bucs are getting a field goal at several books, but ESPN BET and a couple of others are offering the hook with Tampa Bay as a 3.5-point dog.

Other Week 5 Games That Could Be Tight

The Monday Night game, with the Kansas City Chiefs visiting the Jacksonville Jaguars, is one of three teams that AI predicts to be a 6-4 split. The Carolina Panthers are predicted to take the Miami Dolphins by the same margin over 10 simulations; ditto for the Tennessee Titans over the Arizona Cardinals.

The Jaguars are one of the surprises in the early portion of the season. If we had told you four weeks ago that this MNF game would feature a 2-2 team against a 3-1 team, you likely might have thought, "Really? Jacksonville is 2-2?" Actually, no: The Jags are the ones heading into this matchup at 3-1 while the Chiefs, who lost their first two, bring a 2-2 mark into EverBank Stadium on the banks of the St. John's River.

Despite their records, and Jacksonville's homefield advantage, the Chiefs are 3.5-point favorites at DraftKings going into the weekend.

Week 5 NFL Projections Q&A

Q: How did ChatGPT simulate NFL Week 5 games?

A: RotoWire ran 10 simulations for every Week 5 matchup using ChatGPT, with rosters updated as of Oct. 1, 2025. Each game produced projected scores, a winner, and a calculated average margin of victory (MOV). This allowed us to compare not only who wins most often but also how decisively they win.

Q: Which teams dominated the ChatGPT simulations?

A: The Rams (against the 49ers) and Cowboys (at the Jets) completely dominated with 10-0 sweeps, with the Cowboys projected to win by an average margin of 12 points. Other strong performers included the Bills, Saints, Colts, Eagles and Lions, each winning most of their games with solid average MOVs above 5.

Q: What were the closest or most balanced matchups in the simulations?

A: The most even were Vikings vs. Browns in London, Texans at Ravens, Commanders at Chargers and Buccaneers at Seahawks, all essentially coin flips. Chiefs at Jaguars and Dolphins at Panthers were also tightly contested, with narrow margins deciding simulated outcomes.
