2021 Fantasy Outlook
Viewed as a project after improving each year of his collegiate career at Purdue, Hopkins played just five games and only two offensive snaps last year as a rookie. However, there could be more opportunities in 2021. He's a solid route runner, and there are passing-catching snaps available after Gerald Everett signed with the Seahawks during free agency. It's still probably unlikely Hopkins makes much of a fantasy splash this season, but if fellow tight end Tyler Higbee were to miss time, Hopkins could see an increased role in the passing attack. Coach's Decision
September 19, 2021
Hopkins (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Colts, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has slipped down the tight end depth chart behind Tyler Higbee, Johnny Mundt and Jacob Harris. As a result, it may take an injury for him to see game action in upcoming contests.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
An excellent route runner who improved each year during his collegiate career at Purdue, Hopkins bolsters an already impressive Los Angeles tight end corps. Selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the pick suggests head coach Sean McVay's increased use of 12 personnel late last season could continue this year. Additionally, with tight end Gerald Everett in the final campaign of his rookie deal, the Rams could move on from their 2017, second-round selection -- especially if Hopkins impresses as a rookie. It's still important to note that Hopkins doesn't project as a reliable blocker at this stage of the game, so playing time could be scarce this year with Tyler Higbee established, Johnny Mundt a sound blocker and Everett in a make-or-break season.
