2022 Fantasy Outlook
Muhammad may benefit from playing in the defensive system that new coach Matt Eberflus brings over from Indianapolis, where the two previously worked together. After averaging 26.3 tackles per season between 2018 and 2020, Muhammad nearly doubled his production last year, when he recorded 48 stops. He also posted a career-high six sacks after never having more than three in a season. Going into his age-27 campaign, he should be a steady, but low-upside, fantasy producer in IDP leagues. The Bears have released Muhammad, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Muhammad ended the 2022 season with 29 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble across 17 games. He played an even timeshare with Trevis Gipson, as neither player was ultimately able to earn a larger role. The 27-year-old will now look to bounce back from a relatively disappointing season in 2023 with a new team. He has already played for New Orleans, Indianapolis and Chicago across his six-year career.

IDP Analysis: New Role for Collins
November 17, 2020
After previously spending his NFL career as a pass-rushing DE/OLB tweener, Collins has mostly shed the pass-rushing reps in Detroit and is piling up tackles instead.
Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2020
Muhammad averaged 36 defensive snaps per game last season, accruing 23 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble across 16 appearances. With Justin Houston signing with Baltimore in free agency, Muhammad will have a good chance to claim a starting role at defensive end.
Muhammad, who logged 28 tackles and three sacks over 16 games with the Colts in 2019, figures to compete for DE snaps opposite Justin Houston with Kemoko Turay, Ben Banogu, Tyquan Lewis and perhaps Denico Autry. Even if he doesn't secure every-down work, Muhammad's ability at setting the edge and making plays against the run should keep him firmly in the team's defensive line rotation.
