2025 Fantasy Outlook
Eskridge managed just three catches for 44 yards across six regular-season appearances with the Dolphins in 2024, but he was reliable enough as a depth asset to convince the team to re-sign him for 2025. The gadget player will struggle to earn regular reps behind all of Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Malik Washington, but he should be able to push for opportunities in the return game. Eskridge (shoulder) was a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Eskridge said Tuesday that his shoulder injury is "fine" and that he expects to suit up Thursday against Baltimore, per C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald. With that, even if Eskridge ends up officially listed as "questionable" for Week 9, it sounds like he can safely expected to be available for Thursday Night Football. With tight end Darren Waller (pectoral) on IR and Tyreek Hill (knee - ACL) out for the year, Eskridge could benefit from increased opportunities on offense versus the Ravens.

2021
Eskridge is heading into the final year of his rookie contract, but he's not guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster. After all, Eskridge has produced just 17 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown through three seasons, including no receptions in 2023. The Seahawks seemingly like what they have in Jake Bobo, and they recently signed Laviska Shenault, who may prove to be a more effective gadget player than Eskridge. If he makes the roster, he'll be mostly utilized as a returner.
Despite being a second-round pick in 2021, Eskridge has logged just 17 offensive snaps per game through two seasons, leading to 17 total receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown. It appears the Seahawks would like to use Eskridge as a gadget player with some kick-return duties. That will likely be the extent of his role in 2023 now that rookie first-rounder Jaxon Smith-Njigba joined DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett at the top of the depth chart, and there's no guarantee that Eskridge is even the team's No. 4 WR. On top of that, Eskridge is suspended for the first six games of the season.
Eskridge was considered a reach in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and producing just 10 catches for 64 yards and a touchdown over 10 games as a rookie didn't help his cause. While he failed to distinguish himself as the No. 3 wide receiver over Freddie Swain, Eskridge did receive some designed plays, as evidenced by his four rushes for 59 yards. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound wideout has 4.40 speed and should get opportunities this season, but even if he shows flashes, he'll likely be frustrating for fantasy managers in an offense that already features DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Noah Fant.
When the Seahawks selected Eskridge with their first pick - 56th overall - of the 2021 NFL Draft, he became the earliest wide receiver drafted by them since Paul Richardson at No. 45 in 2014. The team needed depth at the position after David Moore signed with the Panthers this offseason, but this decision nonetheless was a bit surprising. While Eskridge was quite productive at Western Michigan with a 34-784-8 line in just six games in 2020, he turned 24 years old in March and stands at just 5-9, 190 pounds. Tyler Lockett already is the primary slot receiver in Seattle's offense, though, so Eskridge's fit into the offense isn't immediately apparent. However, Eskridge demonstrated craftiness in the open field as a kick returner in college, meaning he could make an impact on special teams until he carves out a niche in Russell Wilson's passing tree.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Unlikely to make 53-man roster
WRSeattle Seahawks
August 24, 2024
Eric Edholm of NFL.com believes that the Seahawks are likely to omit Eskridge from the final 53-man roster at the conclusion of training camp.
ANALYSIS
Eskridge hasn't produced at the level expected of his second-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. He registered just 17 catches for 122 yards and one touchdown over the first two years of his career, and he didn't record a reception in 2023 across four regular-season outings. Although he has some special-teams experience as a returner, Edholm believes the Seahawks have other options in that role and too much talent in the wide receiver room to include Eskridge in the final 53-man roster.
