Returns to NFL, signs with Carolina
Renfrow and the Panthers agreed on a one-year contract Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Renfrow will make his return to the NFL after taking a season off in 2024. The wide receiver most recently reeled in 25 of 37 targets for 255 yards over 17 games with the Raiders in 2023. Renfrow's best campaign came in 2021, when he caught 103 of 128 targets for 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns with Las Vegas while appearing in the Pro Bowl after that season. The 29-year-old is a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina native and attended Clemson for college, so he'll now be looking to get his career back on track with what is effectively his hometown team in 2025.

After making his first career Pro Bowl in 2021, a slew of injuries combined with the arrival of Davante Adams caused Renfrow's production to severely dip, as the slot man closed the 2022 season with 36 receptions for 330 yards and two touchdowns on 50 targets in 10 games while Adams commanded a career-high 180 total targets. The Raiders traded tight end Darren Waller to the Giants this offseason, but free-agent additions Jakobi Meyers and DeAndre Carter are each capable of vulturing slot reps, which could land Renfrow on the trade block at some point. Given that he remains in Las Vegas, however, Renfrow's utility in PPR formats could potentially rebound if he earns enough playing time, as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo typically lacks in the air-yards department.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Feeling back to 2021 level
Renfrow said his body feels better heading into the 2025 campaign than it has any point since 2021, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports. "Honestly, this is the best I've felt since probably 2021, by far," said Renfrow, who didn't play in 2024 due to ulcerative colitis.
ANALYSIS
Renfrow posted career highs across the board with 103 catches for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns during the 2021 regular season but combined for just 585 receiving yards over the next two campaigns before sitting out 2024 entirely. The former Raiders wide receiver is trying to come back to the NFL with the Panthers, though the 29-year-old Renfrow faces significant competition for playing time in a wide receiver room that includes fellow veteran slot receiver Adam Thielen, as well as the younger Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker and Tetairoa McMillan, who missed some time during training camp due to a leg injury.
