2024 Fantasy Outlook
Phillips, a 2021 first-round pick, was putting together a career year before tearing his ACL in Week 12 of the 2023 campaign. The Dolphins have picked up the fifth-year option of Phillips' rookie deal, keeping him under contract for two more seasons, but it would be reasonable to anticipate him getting off to a slow start in 2024. That could be true for much of Miami's defensive front, with Bradley Chubb also working his way back from an ACL tear, but once both are back to full health, they should be able to bring some serious pressure up front against opposing offenses. Off injury report
Phillips (Achilles) has no injury designation ahead of Thursday night's matchup with the Bills, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Phillips is still recovering from the Achilles injury he sustained in 2023, but it appears he'll be suiting up Thursday night after playing limited snaps in Week 1. The 2021 first-round pick logged 6.5 sacks in just eight regular-season games last season, and he's expected to line up opposite Quinton Bell as part of Miami's top pass-rush unit against the Bills.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2021
Phillips has quickly proven why the Dolphins selected him in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, as he's picked up an impressive 15.5 sacks across his first two seasons as a pro. He took a significant step forward in his sophomore campaign from a role perspective, as he increased his snap total from 594 to 796 while playing in all 17 games. This could be the year he surpasses 1,000 snaps as a true every-down player, which in turn should help his production across the board. Phillips is a prime breakout candidate.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Feeling ready for Week 1
Phillips, who is recovering from a torn Achilles injury from last year, told reporters Thursday that he is hoping to not be on a snap count to start the regular season and that he's "pushing to play as much as I can," Bobby Kownack of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Phillips accrued 30 tackles, including 6.0 sacks, over his last six regular-season games in 2023, but his season was cut short after he tore his Achilles in Week 12 against the Jets. With Christian Wilkins and Andrew Van Ginkel signing with the Raiders and Vikings, respectively, in free agency, Phillips will form a pass-rushing tandem alongside defensive tackle Zach Sieler and linebacker Emmanuel Ogbah. Phillips said Thursday that he doesn't have a sack goal in mind, but he did say "I know I'm a 10-plus sack guy. I know that I can go out there and disrupt the quarterback."
