2022 Fantasy Outlook
Mayfield, a 2021 third-round pick, started 16 games at left guard as a rookie and figures to be a core part of Atlanta's offensive line moving forward. However, he may operate as the top backup with Elijah Wilkinson earning the majority of first-team reps during training camp. Read Past Outlooks

Practice window expires
Mayfield (back) reverted back to IR on Thursday after his practice window's expiration, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mayfield will spend the rest of the season on IR after the Falcons failed to activate him within his 21-day practice window. The veteran started 16 games at left guard for Atlanta last season, so with Chuma Edoga (knee) dealing with injury, Mayfield's presence could have been a legitimate boost.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Mayfield was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft so it's likely he will see the field sooner rather than later. While he was an offensive tackle in college, his smaller reach makes him much more likely to be a guard at the next level. With Chris Lindstrom likely occupying the right guard spot for the foreseeable future, Mayfield should challenge Matt Gono for playing time. It may be tough for the rookie to see a starting role this season, but his draft status almost assures the 21-year-old will be a key reserve for the Falcons.
