2022 Fantasy Outlook
The Patriots opted not to place their franchise tag on Jackson opening the door for the premiere cornerback to sign a massive five-year, $82.5 million deal with the Chargers this offseason. One of the league's premier ballhawks since entering the NFL in 2018, Jackson recorded 25 interceptions over his first four seasons, and his eight picks in 2021 surpassed the Chargers' entire total as a team (seven). He'll be part of an up-and-coming Los Angeles secondary that includes three recent early round draft picks in safeties Derwin James and Nasir Adderley and cornerback Asante Samuel. Read Past Outlooks

Possibly back for training camp
Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said Monday that "the hope" is Jackson (kneecap) will be ready to participate in training camp this summer, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson suffered a ruptured patellar tendon Week 7 last year and has been sidelined since. At the end of March, Telesco said he's operating under the assumption Jackson will be ready for the 2023 campaign, but head coach Brandon Staley said there was no definitive timetable for the cornerback's return. Further clarity on Jackson's status should surface when the Chargers begin OTAs, but for now, he'll continue to attack his rehab one day at a time.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
The 25-year-old, who joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2018, has emerged both as a key member of his team's secondary and as an IDP option. Jackson logged 40 tackles and nine picks in 16 games last season and his role in the defense looms large out of the gate, with fellow starting cornerback Stephon Gilmore slated to start the 2021 season on the PUP list.
