Could be ready by end of camp
Niang's recovery from a torn patellar tendon is on schedule, but he's still expected to open training camp on the active/PUP list, according to Charles Goldman of USA Today Chiefs Wire.
ANALYSIS
Chiefs GM Brett Veach sounded optimistic after Niang's latest MRI results. "By the end of training camp is something that could happen," Veach said of Niang's return timeline, adding that Niang's "definitely on target to where he needs to be." While the injury Niang suffered in Week 17 last season could cut into his practice reps early on, it sounds like he should be ready to go by the time the games start to count.
