New England placed Reiff (knee) on its injured reserve list Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Reiff will now be forced to miss at least the Patriots' first four games of the 2023 season. The veteran's absence will leave the Patriots perilously thin at offensive tackle behind Trent Brown and Mike Onwenu.

Though entering just his fourth season, the soft-spoken left tackle is being depended on to provide Detroit with some veteran leadership. Depending on how the rest of the line shakes out, Reiff could be the elder statesman on the Lions' offensive line.
Reiff is slated to start at tackle for Detroit.
Reiff right now is slated as a backup, but he'll push for a spot at both tackle positions and could even slide to guard if the Lions like him enough coming out of training camp.
